Jake moved to New York in 1999, where he worked both On and Off-Broadway as a director and designer, as well as directing premiere work at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville (Eric Pfeffinger, "Tiny Baby"), Williamstown Theatre Festival (Adam Rapp, "Bingo with the Indians), HERE Theatre, 3-Legged Dog and others. He assisted with directors Garry Hynes ("Sixteen Wounded" with Martha Plimpton and Judd Hirsch;  "Streetcar Named Desire" with Patricia Clarkson and Amy Ryan), Clinton Turner Davis (Actor's Theatre of Louisville), Chay Yew (Woolly Mammoth), and Rob Roth (Williamstown Theatre Festival).

He was a founding member of The Interationalists -- a collective of directors from around the world -- who's mission was to bring audiences together in real-time around the world using technology.  During this time, his work began to include more and more video and interactive moments, which eventually led him to focus full-time on video designs and systems' engineering.

A few years after moving to Berlin in 2010, he became the Head of the Video department at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, where he had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned directors in Europe, including Thomas Ostermeier, Romeo Castellucci, Milo Rau, and Katie Mitchell. Upon leaving the Schaubühne, he moved to the Komische Oper. He is currently on the video team at the Münchner Kammerspiele, where he has adapted pieces for new technologies and is pushing the boundaries of where theatre and film collide.

His works have been seen on tour on four continents and he has traveled both as designer and video operator to some of the most distinguished houses in the world.

Jake believes deeply in the power of theatre to bring about social change.
